TAZEWELL, Tenn. — The Tazewell Police Department said two people were charged after a stabbing at a convenience store.
Patrick “Troy” Warren, 33, is charged with aggravated assault. Christopher Hughes, 44, is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, police said.
Around 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Claiborne Emergency Services received multiple 911 calls from Catdaddy’s Market on North Broad Street in Tazewell about a disturbance involving several motorcyclists.
According to the Tazewell Police Department, officers arrived on the scene within minutes and found a large group of motorcyclists, later identified as members of Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, and a person suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Both Warren and Hughes were wearing clothing representing the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club at the time of the incident and were directly involved, according to TPD.
The victim, later identified as 32-year-old Coty Henderson, was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. He was treated and released from the hospital.
TPD said that officers attempted to stop several of the involved motorcyclists, but they fled into Union County, evading TPD, the New Tazewell Police Department, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the Maynardville Police Department and the Plainview Police Department.
The group continued toward the Knox County line, where one of the involved bikers crashed at high speed into a construction zone, according to TPD. The injured biker was taken to UTM.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, police said.
