One injured in shooting involving 2 motorcycle gangs in Whatcom County

BIRCH BAY, Wash — A shooting involving members of two motorcycle gangs injured one person and led to several people being taken into custody Sunday evening, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting was reported at about 7:15 p.m. in the 7800 block of Birch Bay Drive.
The injured person was receiving treatment for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities said there was no known threat to the public.
Blaine police officers were called to assist Whatcom County deputies. The department said its officers helped with the investigation and the arrest of one suspect.
The shooting remains under investigation.
