Gil Amoroso Memorial Award

The Award is named for a US Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who managed and coordinated a state, local and federal task force that obtained the first Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) indictment and conviction of the Pagans Motorcycle Club. Gil was a member of the IOMGIA predecessor organization’s Steering Committee.

It is awarded to an individual(s) based on their long term efforts or career accomplishments in combating outlaw motorcycle gangs. The award is symbolic of the cooperative spirit of law enforcement accomplishments. This is the most prestigious of the IOMGIA Awards. Any individual(s) or institution eligible for other IOMGIA awards may be considered for this award, including the Board’s previous category of “Past Overall Performance.” The award requires a majority of the Board’s vote based on its determination that the efforts to be recognized were so exemplary that they exceed the other awards criteria.
