Trial begins for man charged with murder in Marion County motorcycle gang shooting

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — The trial for John Wolfe, one of the men charged with murder after a motorcycle gang-related shooting in Fairmont in 2022, started on Wednesday.
Court documents allege that Wolfe, who was 33 at the time, “did plan and initiate” the Sept. 9, 2022, shooting death of Henry Silver, who documents say was in a hidden relationship with Wolfe’s girlfriend. Wolfe, who was a member of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, is accused of calling another masked member of the motorcycle gang who then shot and killed Silver in Carolina, West Virginia.
During the trial on April 3, that girlfriend took the stand and testified as a witness against Wolfe; she admitted that she had an affair with the victim and testified about the events that led to the alleged murder. During cross-examination, she admitted that she did not hear Wolfe threaten Silver but she did know that they were going to fight.
Silver’s girlfriend also testified on Wednesday and said that she had sent photos confirming the affair between Silver and Wolfe’s girlfriend to Wolfe. She also said that Wolfe never threatened to harm or kill the victim.
A third witness testified about the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club garage meeting that allegedly happened before the shooting, which happened outside Wolfe’s girlfriend’s apartment. The witness said that he saw the meeting happening at a home in Millersville but that he never heard the victim’s name mentioned.
A fourth witness was a neighbor of the Carolina apartment where the killing allegedly took place who said that she heard the shots and saw the getaway truck in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Court documents from 2022 said that Wolfe, the alleged masked shooter, and several other men all fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The jury in the case, which consists of seven men and seven women, will continue to hear testimony on Thursday.
