Motorcycle club members arrested after violent attack leaves victim unconscious, deputies say

SCENSION PARISH, La. (WAFB) – Deputies said two motorcycle club members have been arrested following a violent attack that knocked a person unconscious in Ascension Parish.
Luis Olivas, 38, and Anthony “Papoose” Gregoire, 38, are facing charges in connection with what took place.
The attack happened in a parking lot along Oak Plaza Avenue in Gonzales on Friday, May, 29, deputies said.
According to investigators, the male victim was moving a car in the parking lot when one of the suspects got into the vehicle and attempted to drive off. Deputies said the victim then tried to stop the theft and was attacked by the suspects.
During the attack, investigators said Olivas and Gregoire knocked the victim unconscious, causing him to also strike his head on the ground.
Deputies said that someone tried to intervene and stop the attack and was also assaulted by the suspects.
Olivas and Gregoire are members of the Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club, according to the sheriff’s office.
Olivas’ charges are principal to second-degree battery, felony theft of a motor vehicle, criminal street gangs and patters of criminal street gang activity, simple assault, and disturbing the peace. Gregoire’s charges are second-degree battery and criminal street gangs and patterns of criminal street gang activity.
The suspects have been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
