Smith County jury sentences man to life for leading gang that murdered biker

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A Kemp man who was found guilty on Friday has been sentenced to life in prison for directing a biker club in a way that resulted in murder.
Kevin Dale Higgins, 58, has been sentenced for his role as the national president of a gang, which links him to a string of criminal activities including aggravated assault and murder. Higgins’ original trial ended in December with a hung jury, and his retrial began Jan. 14.
On Tuesday, Jan. 21, he was sentenced to life in prison.
