NAVARRE, Fla. (WKRG) — A Moss Point, Mississippi man was sentenced last week to 15 years in prison, according to a news release from the First Judicial Circuit of Florida State Attorney’s office.
State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden announced Thursday, Dec. 5, that Brian Scott Sanders was sentenced to 15 years in state prison.
According to the release, Sanders was sentenced after he was found guilty of aggravated battery on a victim 65 years of age or older with great bodily harm by a Santa Rosa County jury.
That guilty verdict was rendered on June 28, the release said.
The verdict and sentencing stems from an incident at Stripes in Navarre, Florida on May 15, 2021, according to the release. Sanders and many members of the Pagan motorcycle club attacked a 67-year-old local man.
According to the State Attorney’s release, prosecuting attorney Kari Garrett said the incident was a senseless act of violence, which warranted a lengthy prison sentence.
