IRON DRAGONS MOTORCYCLE CLUB MEMBER FACES NUMEROUS FIREARM CHARGES

A member of the Iron Dragons Motorcycle Club was arrested on January 11, 2024, by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) 2 District Street Crime Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Biker Enforcement Unit when a search warrant was executed at a rural residence in Rockwood.
Upon entry, the accused attempted to flee the residence. They were immediately apprehended by the OPP Canine Unit. The accused received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
The following items were seized at the residence (see attached photo):
• six handguns;
• seven prohibited weapons (two pairs of brass knuckles, three prohibited knives and two conductive energy weapons);
• two crossbows;
• two expandable batons;
• 16.6 grams of fentanyl;
• 12 pounds of dried cannabis flower;
• A significant quantity of mixed ammunition;
• five pellet guns; including four long guns.
Joseph Wells (42) of Rockwood, has been charged with 54 offences including:
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (6 counts);
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (6 Counts);
• Possession of Property obtained by crime Over $5000
• Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5000 (3 counts)
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (3 Counts);
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (7 counts);
• Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (2 Counts);
• Careless Use or Storage of Firearm (6 Counts);
• Breach of Firearms Regulations (6 Counts);
• Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order (5 Counts);
• Importation of a Prohibited Weapon (2 Counts);
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl);
• Possess Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution;
• Escape Lawful Custody;
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
• Smuggling of Prohibited Weapons (Customs Act) (3 counts).
Wells was held in custody pending a bail hearing before an Ontario Court of Justice in Milton on January 12.
The joint investigation was supported by members of HRPS and OPP BEU and the Tactics and Rescue Unit. The Canada Border Services Agency also played an important role.

Arrests Made Following Investigation into Stolen Vehicles from Ford Plant

The Halton Regional Police, in collaboration with the neighboring police services, located the stolen cars at various locations in the Greater Toronto Area. 12 of the 14 were recovered, with two of them still missing.
The police have made five arrests in relation to the theft. On January 9, Tom Thibault-Levesque, 35, and Barbare Veronica Rachwal, 36, were arrested in Mississauga. They were charged with possession of property obtained by crime of over $5,000 and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Thibault-Levesque was also in possession of a prohibited weapon. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing, while Rachwal was released on an Undertaking.
A day later, the police officers arrested James Park, 34, and Kamorey Mitchell, 33, in Scarborough. The fifth person arrested in relation to the car theft investigation was Joseph Wells, 42, on January 17. Facing 54 charges, Wells is allegedly a member of the Iron Dragons Motorcycle Club.
The investigation is still underway, and police expect to make further arrests. They also ask people who have information regarding the investigation to contact the District Criminal Investigations Bureau
On January 9, Tom Thibault-Levesque, (35) of NFA, and Barbara Veronica Rachwal, (36) of Mississauga, were arrested in Mississauga.
Thibault-Levesque has been charged with the following:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000;
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 counts);
• Fail to comply with Release Order (2 counts);
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
Thibault- Levesque was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Rachwal has been charged with the following:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000;
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 counts);
Rachwal was released on an Undertaking.
On January 10, James Park, (34) of Bowmanville, and Kamorey Mitchell, (33) of Brampton, were arrested in Scarborough.
Park has been charged with the following:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000;
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000;
• Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts).
Park was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Mitchell has been charged with the following:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000;
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000;
• Breach Weapons Prohibition.
Mitchell was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.
The fifth person arrested in relation to this investigation is Joseph Wells (42) of Rockwood. His arrest and charges were highlighted by the HRPS in a media release issued on January 17, 2024.
Other arrests in relation to this investigation have been made by neighbouring police services however no charges have been laid in relation to the initial break-in to the Ford plant and this investigation remains ongoing.
