OMAHA, Neb. —
Omaha police have arrested two suspects in a shooting near a motorcycle club, authorities said.
The Los Diablos Motorcycle Clubhouse has been closed since Aug. 19 after city inspectors found “significant” safety code violations
Omaha Police Assault Unit detectives arrested 21-year-old Daejon Taliaferro and 30-year-old Armon Jackson as part of an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Aug. 15 at the motorcycle club, officials said.
Omaha police said surveillance video seized while investigators served a search warrant on Aug. 19 helps identify the suspected shooter and driver.
Taliaferro was taken into custody at a residence on North 33rd Street on Wednesday, Omaha police said. According to investigators, officers found a stolen firearm while serving a search warrant.
The 21-year-old was taken into custody for first-degree assault, possession of a stolen firearm, and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Omaha police said Jackson was also taken into custody Wednesday for accessory to a felony in the shooting at the motorcycle club.
Taliaferro received 10% of $1 million bond and Jackson was held on 10% of $500,000 bond during a court appearance Thursday.
Investigators said three people have been taken into custody in total for multiple felony charges as part of the investigation.
Omaha police said the third suspect was taken into custody for a gun charge while officers were serving a search warrant at the motorcycle club. Their charges are not related to the shooting investigation.
A fourth suspect, 20-year-old Treshon Gay, is currently wanted for a firearm-related offense in connection with the shooting investigation, authorities said.
Four illegal firearms have also been recovered, investigators said.
