IPHONE ACTIVATION LOCK
iPhones contain a handy feature called Find My iPhone that lets you locate, lock or even erase your phone remotely from other gadgets or a computer. You can lock or destroy all the personal information on your phone in case it’s lost or stolen, so thieves don’t get their hands on it. You can turn on Find My iPhone by opening the Settings App and clicking the iCloud section.
Find My iPhone for iPhones running iOS 7 or later includes a feature called Activation Lock that makes it difficult for criminals to sell stolen phones. That’s because Activation Lock requires the owner’s iCloud password to disable the Find My iPhone feature. They also can’t erase or reactivate the phone without the owner’s password.
Apple makes it easy for you to tell if the phone you’re about to buy is stolen or not using its Activation Lock website. Just type the serial number or Device IMEI number into the page and it will tell you if Activation Lock is still engaged. If it is, then you should ask the seller to enter the iCloud password and disable it so that you’ll be able to set it up with your own account. If the seller can’t enter the code because they don’t have it, then odds are the phone is stolen and you should steer clear.
The serial number and IMEI are located under the Settings app. If you’re buying in person, you can click General and then select About to see all the phone’s information. If the thief is locked out of the phone because it’s in Lost Mode, they probably won’t even be able to access this info for you.

The police chief of Celina, Texas, says after using body cameras for nine months, the investment has been a success.
“Our officers know that when they step out of the vehicle, everything they’re doing and saying is being documented,” Chief Mark Metdker told NBC DFW.
“I think the future of policing is transparency,” he added. “Let’s be as transparent as possible. We have nothing to hide.”
Following that logic, the department released a video on its YouTube channel within the past week of an arrest at an alleged domestic disturbance where, police said, an officer was assaulted.
According to the department, it initially appears from the angle of the dash camera video that the officer jumps on the subject for no reason.
However, from the angle of the officer’s body camera, it appears the man throws a punch at the officer’s face before he is wrestled to the ground, subdued and arrested. -

(U//LES) The Mexican drug cartels are using sophisticated resources to target victims on both sides of the U.S./Mexico Border. Resources include the monitoring of several social networking sites, such as Facebook and blogs to acquire targets for extortion and the ability to exploit a user’s IP address to locate a blogger’s physical location.
(U//LES) Government and law enforcement personnel should be especially cautious when using Facebook at home, or during travel for work, as Facebook automatically uses current locations when information is shared at anytime over its site. Personnel should also adjust Security and privacy settings to their highest to help ensure an outside user does not gain access to sensitive identifiers and locations of personnel, family, and friends.
