If anyone (or anyone you may know) is interested in gaining access to the Regional.Gang.Intelligence.Database.(RGID), please contact my work email (kdombrow@southbendin.gov). You can also contact Kenneth Forsythe of Lake County HIDTA (kforsythe@lc.hidta.net) and/or visit https://rgid.org for further as well.

RGID is a free and secured-website for Law Enforcement agencies (Police,Sheriff, Corrections, Parole/Probation, Juvenile; Local,State,Federal) to collect and disseminate gang intelligence. RGID is currently being used by over 250+ LE agencies across 14 states, with over 18,000 documented gang members in it. RGID is 28CFR.Part 23 compliant and is a great tool to collaborate and communicate with others in LE.

I have attached the forms needed to get access. The “MOU” is to be completed by an agency head, to have that agency get access. The “USER AGREEMENT” needs to be completed by each LE agency employee getting access to it. *Completed forms are to be emailed to Kenneth Forsythe (kforsythe@lc.hidta.net or FAX: 219-650-2465).

The annual Hells Angels USA Run is scheduled for July 29 through August 2, 2015, in Clarksville, Virginia. Law Enforcement personnel can expect to see or encounter packs of Hells Angels and their support vehicles traveling across the United States before and after these dates. In addition to riding out to the annual event, some members may fly out to the event.

On July 4, 2015 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, there is a scheduled Sons of Silence (SOS) party (meeting).  The meeting is scheduled to host approximately 700 members (reported by SOS member who filed for the permit).  SOS Chapter presidents have attended in past years. SOS members are expected to be travelling to Wyoming on July 3, 2015 and leaving July 5, 2015.  This may be for the the stand up of a chapter/patch over/SOS claim over Wyoming.  If you have any information, please forward that to Analyst Sandra Erickson at sandra.erickson@wyo.gov.

These haunting images were taken in the early 1990s by photographer Sergei Vasiliev after he gained access to some of Russia’s toughest prisons at the peak of the gang wars that followed the break up of the Soviet Union.

The foundation of ambush preparedness and survival is to know what surrounds you in your immediate environment. Here are 8 things you should make a habit of doing to ensure you’re always prepared.

1. Live in Condition Yellow, maintaining 360-degree awareness. Whenever possible, partner-up and if the situation is tense or unknown, operate as point and rear guard for maximum awareness.

2. Out on the street, check your six frequently, scanning the mirrors in your vehicle every few seconds. If you are report writing in your vehicle, do it with two units positioned window-to-window, facing in opposite directions. If you must write reports in your vehicle without a second unit, find a parking spot where no one can sneak in behind you, but be careful not to trap yourself in a pocket; choose a location where you have multiple escape options.  Continue reading
